The 2011/2012 Season starts on Saturday 17th September 2011 – This is where it all begins!
The main aim in the Colts is to have fun, fun and more fun! The Colts coaches have a big responsibility to oversee each child’s first structured taste of the beautiful game. In order to achieve this, we focus primarily on having fun by playing lots of varied games with a sprinkling of football flavour thrown in.
The key to this year is for the young players to enjoy themselves whilst they become comfortable with the basic skills and team awareness that will equip them to progress through the years. If they progress to the Under 7’s then we have succeeded as they have enjoyed themselves!
In our experience, the Under 6’s are able to enjoy themselves most when their families are watching and offering encouragement from the side-lines. Registering a child into this club, at this age, is very much a joint venture and it is now a requirement that a parent/carer is present throughout each session for the Under 6 age-group – Of course you can nip to the ‘dug-out’ for a coffee & bacon butty – but not off the fields altogether!
Football Practice Sessions:
Our sessions run from 10:15am through to 11:15am each Saturday on the Harrold playing fields. We start on Saturday 17th September with a simple introduction and some fun and games.
